Live-music venues worth the trip in Wausau, Wisconsin

The Grand Theater is a 1927 classic revival house on North 4th Street in downtown Wausau, run by the Performing Arts Foundation as the region’s touring stop for Broadway, concerts and family shows. Its own site says the “new 1470-seat Grand Theater opened” on Thanksgiving Day 1927 and that a 1987 restoration “upgraded technical systems for the big sound and bright lights required by touring shows”.

Bull Falls Brewing Company is a craft brewery on East Thomas Street in Wausau whose beer garden hosts bands on summer Friday and Saturday evenings, and its own site invites visitors to “lively gatherings in our beer garden” and offers updates on “upcoming bands, beer releases and other events”.
