Live-music venues worth the trip in Spring Green, Wisconsin

Shitty Barn Sessions presents concerts in an old barn on East Madison Street in Spring Green, with no raised stage and limited tickets. Its own site says “Audience and performer coexist in an intimate and integrated space with as little separating instruments and ears as possible”, and the series runs “May through October” with “generally one show a week”.

Slowpoke Lounge & Cabaret on West Jefferson Street tells visitors “Slowpoke is a Lounge in the truest sense of the word” and that when the mood calls for it, “we cabaret”. It books touring and regional acts and hosts an open mic “the fourth Monday of every month”.
