A National Historic Landmark ballroom in Clear Lake operating since 1933, the Surf Ballroom’s own site describes the final stage for Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper at the February 2, 1959 Winter Dance Party, and says it still books national touring acts and local favorites across rock, swing, country and contemporary music.
