Live-music venues worth the trip in Urbana, Illinois

The University of Illinois’ 300,000-square-foot performing arts complex, which houses an outdoor amphitheatre and five indoor stages including Foellinger Great Hall, a hall its venues page says boasts one of the world’s premier acoustic environments, and which hosts the biennial ELLNORA guitar festival.

A downtown Urbana bar that its about page calls a music venue, honky tonk, dive bar, watering hole and gathering place, with live music or another event every day across country, jazz, blues, rock, bluegrass and songwriter circles, plus a tented patio stage May through October.
